Employment Details
Staff are paid an allowance that enables then to live simply but comfortably in the local Phnom Penh community. It is sufficient for daily requirements, as well as allowing for eating out occasionally, and even saving for a holiday in one of the neighbouring countries, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand.

Housing - HOPE School DOES NOT provide housing for staff, but assists with finding furnished accommodation. HOPE is currently working towards a staff housing program, with rental costs being deducted from the monthly allowance.

Flights to Cambodia are the responsibility of the staff member. At the end of two years, HOPE will provide a one-way ticket for the member of staff to return to their home country, or a return flight for the teacher if the contract is renewed.

Medical insurance is the responsibility of the staff member. However, HOPE is able to organise insurance, including medical evacuation, and the premium will be deducted from the allowance as required.

Pension - there is no pension or superannuation scheme.

Benefits include free tuition for children, in addition to innumerable rewards spiritually, culturally and personally.
We encourage staff to seek additional support from home, from their church, friends, family or in partnership with a mission organisation.
This support is helpful with some of these costs mentioned in addition to some of those personal expenses in establishing your new home in Phnom Penh.

Complete the Preliminary application form.

Return the preliminary application form as soon as possible to the Director.

If requested, complete and submit a full application form to the Director.

Be prepared to attend an interview, either by telephone, or preferably, face to face, with interview panels (where possible) in your home country.

Wait and pray!! This process is quite a lengthy one, and can take between 6 and 10 weeks.
Upon successful appointment...

Where possible, we will arrange an Orientation Program in your home country

Your visa will be organised.

You will receive further information about packing, freighting, and other practical bits and pieces learned by the experience of those who have gone before!

Your children, if any, will receive some information and activities to help prepare them.

You will be met at the airport and given an orientation to assist in settling.

You and your family will be supported by the Hope School community as you begin your new life in Cambodia.
