Mr Jerome serving at HOPE

Location: Phnom Penh

Hope School welcomes Mr Jerome de Vries as part of our International Guest Programme.

Mr Jerome is originally from Auckland, New Zealand and lived there until he was seven. From there his family moved to India where he attended different schools in Kolkata, before attending Hebron Boarding School for five years.

He graduated from Hebron School in June and is currently serving at HOPE School is mainly working with students in Years 5 to 9 as a teacher’s assistant and providing one on one assistance to some students.

Mr Jerome heard about HOPE School from a friend of his parents. He was looking around for opportunities to volunteer before his university course started next March, and he applied for the international guest program for a period of six months.

Mr Jerome knew a little bit about Cambodia before he arrived and is excited to be serving in this country. He finds life easy going in Phnom Penh compared to the busy metropolis lifestyle of India.

“I really like Phnom Penh. The food is generally great and the people are very friendly.”

Mr Jerome also spends some of his time volunteering at the International Justice Mission here in Phnom Penh.

HOPE School regularly welcomes International Guests.  If you are not a qualified teacher, but have a variety of skills, gifts and talents to enrich our school, please consider our International Guest program.
