FEBCambodia
FEBCambodia has owned land on the outskirts of Phnom Penh for a number of years and is willing to sell a 5 hectare block of this land to Hope School. We plan to purchase the land in two stages - a 2.4 hectare titled block, and a 2.6 hectare titled block.
FEBCambodia is a member of the international Christian radio mission FEBC, which broadcasts throughout Asia on over 100 transmitting stations.
How FEBC's ministry to Cambodia began...
Short-wave broadcasts to Cambodia first went on air in 1957, transmitted from FEBC’s station in the Philippines. In 1993 Samoeun Intal, a Cambodian working on the FEBC Philippines desk, returned to her homeland with her Filipino husband Robledo. Together they set up a production centre in Phnom Penh and began training local people in radio programming.
After many trials and much prayer, God enabled FEBCambodia to buy a substantial plot of land at Chukva on the outskirts of Phnom Penh and to build its own local radio station. Family FM 99.5 was launched in 2002.
Reaching out by radio
Via a 10kW transmitter, Family FM broadcasts every day from early morning till late at night, potentially reaching half the country’s population. We seek to communicate the love of Jesus through programming relevant to every area of need: spiritual, emotional, social and practical.
Our vision is that, through the power of the Gospel, Cambodian families and individuals will experience HEALING from the past, receive HELP today, and to enjoy HOPE for the future.
FEBCambodia and Hope School
FEBCambodia is delighted at the prospect of having Hope School as neighbours. Founder Samoeun Intal says: “We had started seeking a buyer for the land, but we did not experience God’s peace in these negotiations. Then we were approached by Hope School. We have clearly seen God’s hand in this process. We are looking forward to a close and rewarding relationship.”
